Church House
We host our training courses in Guildford, in the Diocese of Guildford building ‘Church House’ situated within the landscaped grounds of the University of Surrey Research Park, southbound just off the A3.
We are located at 20 Alan Turing Road, Guildford GU2 7YF, with some adjacent parking available.
- Our reception is manned from 9.00am to 5.00pm and to ensure everyone’s safety, all attendees will be asked to register, sign in on entry and wear a visitor’s badge while on the premises.
- Our venue is wheelchair accessible throughout the ground floor. Guide dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Please contact us if you require any additional mobility or accessibility assistance.
- We offer complimentary refreshments on all our courses. For day courses and programmes, we provide a catered sandwich lunch on the premises. We aim to cater for all dietary requirements where possible.
University of Surrey Research Park – Parking your vehicle
Course attendees arriving by car will be sent a car parking permit electronically (email) in advance of their training. Kindly note the option to select an e-parking permit must be done at the time of online booking.
- Once received, this e-parking permit should be printed and displayed in your windscreen for the duration of your visit.
- Please note a traffic warden patrols the research park and cars without valid passes will receive a penalty.
- Course attendees must park in the Church House, Guildford carpark, not in other adjacent carparks or the road around the Science Park.
- GDBE elevate online e-parking permits are only valid within the Church House, Guildford carpark.
- A car parking permit may also be obtained from our reception team on arrival.
Health and Safety
We ask visitors to adhere to all local measures in place, to be mindful to ensure everyone’s safety when you visit us and to please follow official guidance by the Department of Health.

GDBE elevate Training | Short courses and Programmes
To book our short courses and training programmes your school must be registered and have an account with us.

- Our face-to-face training venue is Church House Guildford, GU2 7YF.
- Our live online training is delivered via Zoom.
- All training support materials and resources are included.
Kindly note our DBE Leadership briefings, conferences and events are publicised and available to book using our secure platform – these are free or individually priced and not part of this offer
GDBE elevate Training | CANCELLATION POLICY
You retain the right to cancel at any point. We charge 20% of course fees for any cancellations made within the 2-week period before the start of a course. If you cancel after, or on the actual day of the course starting, we will invoice for the full fee.
We will refund any course fees if we must cancel.
Our course prices are carefully reviewed and considered each year in consideration of National, regional, and local education partners, service providers and teaching school hubs.

We will continue to build on our offer to best support you, remotely or in person, throughout the coming year. We may, due to further unsettled periods, make adjustment to some elements where required. We will of course, keep you informed. Unless stated as being a being a LIVE ONLINE, our training courses are scheduled to take place at our venue Church House, Guildford GU2 7YF.

Minimum numbers: all of our events require a minimum number of delegates in order to proceed. If, due to low numbers, we decide we are unable to run a course you will be notified by email/phone at least 5 working days in advance of the event. You will be given the option to transfer to another course or given a full refund with no administration charge. Please note that if due to unforeseen circumstances a course facilitator is unable to attend on the day, we will endeavor to engage a replacement. If, however, we are unable to find a replacement we will notify you as soon as possible.

Personal and Non-Commercial Use Limitation
Unless otherwise specified, the Services are for use within your school, personal and non-commercial use. You may not modify copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products or services obtained from the Services.

Member Account, Password and Security
If any of the Services requires you to open an account, you must complete the registration process by providing us with current, complete and accurate information as prompted by the applicable registration form. You also will choose a password and a user name. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify The Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
The Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account, either with or without your knowledge. However, you could be held liable for losses incurred by The Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance or another party due to someone else using your account or password. You may not use anyone else's account at any time, without the permission of the account holder.
No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
As a condition of your use of the Services, you will not use the Services for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices. You may not use the Services in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair any Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance server, or the network(s) connected to any Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance server, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of any Services. GDBE elevate CORE Package | Bundles and Support Add on
All Support packages are valid for one academic year from the date of purchase. Where possible we will try to accommodate any specific needs you may have.
GDBE elevate | Bundles and Support add ons | Cancellations
You retain the right to cancel at any point. If you would like to cancel your support package with us, you must notify us in writing 90 days before the date of your renewal is due. We require 28 days' notice for cancellation or rearrangement traded service request for in school training or consultancy. Brokered external traded services may carry up to 50% cancellation or rearrangement fee within the 28 days' notice period. Cancellation without notice or non-attendance for brokered external traded services incurs the full fee. (100% quoted fee +VAT).

Cancellations Services
In the instance of the event, a service being cancelled we will endeavor to contact within the time frames above and in good time through the contact information given and seek to rearrange or offer alternate provision.
GDBE elevate | Pricing, Discounts & Concessions All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT and correct for the current academic year. We do not expect any change in prices but in the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to change our pricing accordingly. Similarly, we reserve the right to withdraw any discounts or concessions accordingly. If there are any changes to pricing or to discounts, we will endeavor to notify you as soon as possible and you have the right to cancel, with no charge, should you so wish.
GDBE elevate | Invoicing & Payment
Payment for all support packages and add-ons ordered, or courses and programmes booked, will be requested by invoice, and sent to the billing details listed on your account. Kindly note that our terms of payment are 30 days from the date of invoice. If you are unable to make payment, or if there is a dispute regarding the amount to be paid, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can resolve any issues. If payment is not made within 30 days, we reserve the right to charge interest on the outstanding amount.

Guildford Diocesan Services Limited (GDSL) | Diocesan Consultancy Services
GDBE elevate Directory sets out in detail the consultancy services offered by the Guildford Diocesan Board of Education (GDBE) on behalf of the Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance (GDBF) available from Guildford Diocesan Services Ltd (GDSL) which is a trading company set up for the purpose by the GDBF.
GDBE elevate Service Agreement Subscription | Termination of the Service
The GDBE elevate service agreement complete with it's CORE support package is valid for a period of one year starting on 1st September and will continue for successive periods of one year unless terminated on an anniversary by either party on the giving of three months’ notice.
Should a school/trust wish to terminate the service before the end of the agreed term, the following terms apply; three months' notice of the intention to terminate must be given, in writing, to the Diocesan Director of Education, Guildford Diocesan Board of Education (GDBE), Church House, Guildford, 20 Alan Turing Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 7YF. The notice must be delivered by a 'signature on delivery service' to the GDBE at Church House, Guildford, 20 Alan Turing Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 7YF.
Fees equivalent to six months payments will be due at the point of termination to account for early termination. Any refund of fees will be made at the point the service ceases.
Kindly note that you have the right to cancel your support package or bundle at any time. However, you will not receive a refund if there is less than 3 months left of the agreed agreement period or if you have already used up your package or bundle allocation.

This is a secure online platform and booking system for GDBE service level agreements, consultancy services and training for all educators, schools and academy trusts.

Each Spring we contact you to advise renewal in advance before the next new academic year.
We can work with you to plan in our support and advise partners to have everything in place for you by September, as required.
New subscription request | Online | gdbe-elevate.org
All requests should be made online using our secure platform gdbe-elevate.org. The advertising of the GDBE elevate Service Agreement on our secure platform constitutes an "invitation to treat" rather than a contractual offer. All online requests are provisional until approved by confirmation email. Purchase approval is subject to a two-step online approval process, firstly by the named School/Trust Account holder and then by the Diocese.
New Account Holders | New customers need to register for an online account before any bookings or service requests can be made.
Schools and Trusts must contact our School Services Manager by email gdbe-elevate@cofeguilford.org.uk to ensure that an approved School/Trust Account administrator for the school or trust is in place to authorise online transactions using gdbe-elevate.org platform.
• Kindly Note: On registering for an account a single user ‘My Account’ is created and the appropriate permissions for the account set-up can be put place as a ‘School Account’ only by our Services Manager.
To make a GDBE elevate CORE subscription or renewal request online via our portal, the following steps must be taken: click "request CORE" in relation to the relevant SLA package subscription; if you are an existing user, you must go to the log in page and enter your login details; once you are logged in, you must consent to the online terms and conditions; we will then send you an initial acknowledgement.
Finally, we will send a GDBE elevate CORE subscription or renewal confirmation once the school/trust administrator has approved the CORE request from within its gdbe-elevate.org school account. Once the request has been approved school/trust account administrator, an automated email will be sent confirming school/trust membership and access to school/trust Service Level Agreement secure within the school/trust account. Only on subscription, can the CORE service and training package entitlement, benefits and discounts be automatically applied to online transactional bookings or bundle options.

GDBE elevate | Limitation of Liability:
The Parties will be under no liability to each other whatsoever (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, restitution or otherwise) for any indirect or consequential losses howsoever caused arising out of or in connection with this Agreement. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement and save for sums properly payable by the Parties pursuant to this Agreement a Party’s aggregate liability to the other under this Agreement (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, restitution or otherwise) for any damage or losses howsoever caused will be limited to the subscription payable for the current year only.
This clause shall survive the termination of this Agreement for whatever cause. For the purposes of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 and notwithstanding any other provision of this agreement this agreement is not intended to, and does not, give any person who is not a party to it any right to enforce any of its provisions.
Resolving Disagreements: In the event of being dissatisfied with any part of the service, every effort should be made to resolve issues face to face with your appointed officer. Failing that, a written complaint should be sent to the Diocesan Director of Education.

The Director will arrange for a senior officer to investigate and respond. Where this strategy fails, the complaint will be resolved by two members of the GDBE who will investigate and respond. Their judgement will be binding.
