SIAMS Spotlight 2 – How does the school’s culture encourage justice and courageous advocacy? 2024/25

The series of ‘SIAMS Spotlight’ training sessions considers key aspects of SIAMS, each with a different area of focus matched to the Inspection Questions. They are aimed at supporting all schools on their ongoing school improvement journey.

Spotlight Session 2 will focus on SIAMS Inspection Question 5 – ‘How does the school’s theologically rooted Christian vision create an active culture of justice and responsibility?’

  1. Why encourage courageous advocacy in schools?
  2. How can schools empower pupils to understand injustice and to develop as active agents of change?
  3. How can schools thread courageous advocacy into the curriculum?
  4. How can leaders use frameworks for developing pupil participation?
  5. How can leaders evaluate the impact of courageous advocacy?

Schools are encouraged to send more than one attendee to maximise discussion and impact.
